Tips and Tricks of working with reels!
How to adjust your Fly Reels drag
  1. Know Your Fish:
Before adjusting the drag, think about the type of fish you're after and the pressure needed for your chosen line (e.g., 20# tippet).
  2. Initial Setting:
The reel is preset out of the box for fishing. For more accuracy, set the drag to 30-40% of your line's strength. For example, with 20# line, aim for 6-8# of drag.
  3. Fine-Tune with Clicks:
After the initial setting, use the preset knob for micro-adjustments. Turn it clockwise for more pressure, counterclockwise for less. Each click equals about 1# of pressure at the maximum.
  4. Adjust in Free Spool:
Only tweak the preset knob when the reel is in free spool. This ensures precise and safe changes to the drag.
  5. Test and Refine:
Keep testing and refining until you reach the right drag tension. This process helps customize the drag for your specific fishing conditions.
