Main Case-Full Framed

Main Case-Full Framed

Full Frame Main Case

I am describing our full frame main cases that are made from aluminum. They all use our dovetail universal foot and have full frames to eliminate line chaffing or escaping the reel, frame thickness is designed for strength if dropped or kicked preventing bending or damage.

Feature:

Full-Frame Aluminum Main Case with Universal 60° Dovetail Foot

Function:

Full-frame architecture closes off gaps so line can’t slip out or contact edges

Thickened frame sections are engineered to absorb impact (drops/kicks) and resist bending

Universal dovetail foot interface mechanically locks the reel lower and tighter to the rod, consistent across models.

Benefit:

Prevents line escape and chafing: protects line, reduces failures, and keeps retrieves clean.

Strength you can trust: rigid frame maintains alignment under heavy drag and rough handling.

Impact-resistant durability: less chance of a bent frame or damaged fit after real-world knocks.

Consistent mounting across your lineup: same foot system, same secure connection, same feel.

Longer service life: fewer distortion-related issues means smoother performance over time.

What did we revise:

We revised the 4 main case, formerly the SF, from an open-frame design to a full-frame design. In certain stripping situations, line could be pulled back against the frame, slip through the gap, and end up on the wrong side without the angler noticing. The full-frame case removes that failure point completely, keeping the line contained, protected, and properly controlled.

One Liners:

All models now feature full-frame construction, eliminating line management issues while adding strength, rigidity, and greater overall durability.

Wish Contributor :

The full frame design that now runs through every model started at the beginning. Bear Holeman and Travis Holeman were clear—they wanted full frame protection on their reels to prevent line chafing when battling big fish. Under heavy drag and hard angles, exposed gaps can cost you. Our larger reels had that feature early on, but we came to see it wasn’t just for big game applications. It’s critical across the entire saltwater lineup. A full frame controls line path, prevents escape under load, and protects against failure when pressure peaks. What started as a specific request became a standard. Now it’s built into every reel for one reason—control when it matters most.

Reel Foot- Dovetail

Reel Foot- Dovetail

Reel Foot- Dovetail

Feature:

60° dovetail slide-in reel foot integrated to the main frame

Lowered reel-to-rod connection geometry

One set screw from above to lock the foot in place

One universal foot standard used across the entire lineup

3D-modeled Texture  that interfaces with the reel seat clamp

Function:

The angled dovetail mechanically locks the foot into the frame, distributing load through a wedged interface instead of relying on screws to carry shear.

Positions the reel closer to the rod axis and reel seat, reducing leverage and lift.

Locks the dovetail and eliminates fore–aft movement with a single clamp point that’s easy to access.

Standardizes fit, tooling, and service parts across models.

Creates controlled contact points that increase grip and resist micro-slip when the seat is tightened.

Benefit:

Exceptional strength and rigidity under torque and impact

No flex / no loosening compared to flat-foot, bolt-on designs

More confidence under heavy drag and hard runs

Simpler service and replacements

Better hold without over-tightening

A 60° dovetail, slide-in foot locks the reel lower and tighter to the rod—then the traditional multiple small fasteners., our 3D-modeled tongue that bites the reel seat for unmatched strength and universal compatibility.

Wish Contributor :

Inspired by old-school craftsman cabinetry, Wes wanted a minimalist connection that was simple, functional, and refined — the kind of detail customers would notice and appreciate.

Cam

Cam

  Drag Cam

Feature:

Dual-ramp Drag Cam Disc

A modeled cam profile with two opposing ramps that converts lever travel into controlled drag pressure on a circular disc

Universal  Drag Cam  with Right/Left-Hand Options (Forward = Free, Pull Back = Drag)

Function:

The cam’s opposing ramp geometry translates that motion into axial compression on the drag stack.

Because the ramp is modeled (not threaded), drag increase is driven by a predictable mechanical curve rather than thread pitch and “number of turns.

Lever forward places the reel in free spool; pulling back toward the angler progressively applies drag pressure.

Benefit:

Fast, intuitive control: sweep the lever to add or reduce drag instantly—no counting turns.

Repeatable settings: the cam profile delivers consistent drag change every time you move the lever.

Smoother progression: modeled ramps can be tuned for a linear or progressive “build” (fine control in the low range, power on the high end).

More confident adjustments under load: changes are easier to make mid-fight because you’re moving a lever through a defined range rather than fighting a knob under tension.

What did we revise:

Refined free-spool entry ramp for a cleaner, smoother feel

Old industry standards:

Reduced variability vs thread systems: less sensitivity to thread pitch, wear, lubrication, or slight changes in “feel” from one reel to the next

Featured one liner:

Our dual-ramp drag cam turns lever travel into smooth, tunable compression—delivering fast, predetermined repeatable, progressive drag without counting knob
